New work in progress. It started out a VERY windy and rainy morning, my favorite studio weather. I've been in the studio over 6 hours already and wishing I could slow the day down. Time always goes so fast when I'm painting.
I'm super excited about this new body of work. I have a great start on this Wolf painting, based off a photograph by Stephen Canino @goodwolfsessions. When the original painting sells, I will donate 10% of the profit to the Wolf Hollow Sanctuary.
I wasn't sure if I was going to move forward with this Florida Panther painting, but I'm glad I decided to put more time into her. I've found a lot of helpful information on the Big Cat Rescue website regarding these big cats and others. I didn't realize that I live in one of the handful of states where you DO NOT have to have a license or permit to own an exotic animal. Dang. I will donate 10% of the profit of this painting to the sanctuary @bigcatrescue to go towards the sanctuary and education. These paintings will be a part of a new body of work that will be on display Johnson Public House by early Summer.
The more I am learning about these organizations, the more my world is opening up. These paintings are very personal to me, and they continue to teach me so much. More than I could have every imagined.
