When I was in my 20's, I lived/worked on an organic apple orchard in Vermont. My son has the last name of the family I lived with as his middle name. My ex and I lived in a barn apartment on 250 acres of solar-powered land. We had an outhouse (the peace-full pooper) and would carry drinking water down from the house, which was spring fed. Oh, and the barn, on the other side of the wall, we shared with over 40 parrots. Sebastian (who is originally from England) was at the time, the only breeder of parrots on the East Coast. He is also a falconer and was tending to a hawk when we first arrived. We helped out with the farm animals (parrots, dogs, cats, goats, Scottish Highland Cattle, horses) and with the handful of private flower gardens in the surrounding area. We also tended to the apple orchard and labeled and delivered FlagHill Farm Hard Cyder throughout the state. It's the BEST English style Hard Cyder this side of the pond. When working, Sebastian would always point out the bird calls. That's when I first learned about the meowing Cat Bird. It's a sensitive bird and not too showy in her grey attire she reminds us that there is always more under the surface that can't be seen. Listen to her call and move forward confidently with your intuition. Slow down. Pay attention to your dreams. Your awake dreams and your sleeping dreams. Slow down the chatter. Mediate. Breathe.
